I'm a writer and I can usually be found writing or watching movies. I am a HUGE movie buff, and I just wrote my 1st children's book and I fantasize about it being picked up by Disney. I mean, dream big, right?

TMP takes a look at Conan the Barbarian, a remake that isn’t so much a remake as it is a re-imagining of a well known cult classic. It’s a film that basically gives you what you expect which is mainly sex, swords and sorcery. It also delivers a new Conan, different in many ways from the old Conan, a new spin on a familiar story, and the opportunity for sequels in the future.

I love everything that 'Harry Potter' stands for — courage through adversity, finding the strength within, the power of love and the bonds of friendship, and faith, above all, faith that when the chips are really down, you’ll have the power to conquer any obstacle because of the faith you have in yourself. I did immensely savor this epic finale to a fantastical fantasy saga. The ending was poignant and hard earned by our beloved characters and it was a final installment filled with all the magic and adventure we love in our 'Harry Potter' films.

Yes, it’s sad but true. It happens folks. Even super heroes get old. We don’t like to think about it, if we ever do, but the heydays of crime fighting and glory can’t last forever.

As far as spin-offs go, if they’re done right then this writer is all for them. Does it bode well then that Xerxes has been re-titled by Warner Bros. and is now 300: Battle of Artemisia? If you look at it from a branding perspective, most likely this new title is better for the 300 franchise since it obviously links the semi-prequel with the smash hit original 300 starring Gerard Butler.

Every actor dreams of being successful. For actors, the success they seek usually culminates in that one big role that changes an actor’s life forever. It’s the role that really puts them on the map. The role that takes them from the ‘No List’ to the A-List, the Moby Dick of acting better known as ‘The Role That Changed My Life’. It’s the role that makes an actor famous, the one role that they will forever by associated with as they go down in Hollywood history.

Millions of fans are eagerly awaiting the next installment in the Twilight Saga with baited breath. At the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night not only did Robert Pattinson win the award for the Best Onscreen Kiss with co-star Kristen Stewart, but the new trailer for the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 was debuted and the crowd went wild! Directed by Bill Conlon this first half of the 4th book written by Stephenie Meyer is only the beginning.

Fairy tales, legends and mythology seem to be all the rage these days and the revival of these ancient tales proves that great stories are relevant in any age. Feeding our fascination once again is New Line Cinema and Legendary Pictures. Bryan Singer is going to be directing the 3D version of Jack the Giant Killer which is slated to hit theaters in the summer of 2012.

Warner Bros. has added to the series of character posters from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 with arresting images of Voldemort, Snape and Draco Malfoy. Being a huge Harry Potter fan like the rest of you, I really enjoy these visual character profiles. Here they are for your viewing pleasure!

If a picture is worth a thousand words then this one will definitely be worth that and more. It’s our first image of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and already it’s a trending topic on Twitter! The image comes to us via Entertainment Weekly and is definitely going to ramp up the already burgeoning excitement for director Gary Ross’ The Hunger Games and should quell some grumblings about Jennifer Lawrence being cast as the 16 year old heroine.

Well this is finally some good news for Highlander fans across the globe. RCR Media Group is ready to ante up and will co-finance the Highlander reboot alongside Summit Entertainment. At the helm is none other than director Justin Lin of the high octane Fast Five who is also slated to direct the fully financed Terminator.

Reading will end poverty. Free education for all.” ~ Kimani N'gan'ga Maruge, The First Grader

Have you ever wanted something that would change your life that should never have been placed beyond your reach in the first place? Can you imagine for a moment being 84 and not knowing how to read? What would you do? This is the premise for the remarkable film The First Grader, directed by Justin Chadwick and based on a true story.

Kimani N'gan'ga Maruge is an 84 year old veteran Mau Mau freedom fighter who lives in a village in Kenya, Africa. When the Kenyan government declares that it will offer free education for all, Maruge decides that he will finally get the education that was denied him. He decides to go to First Grade at an isolated primary school so that he can learn to read. Once, he fought for his country’s right for freedom from colonialism. Now he will defend his right to learn to read.

When I was a kid there was one word that had the power to transport me to another time when swords, barbarians and evil kings ruled the world, and a valor-loving Crom was the god of all. That one word was Conan. Now this hit classic from 1982 that made Arnold a megastar is being remade and Jason Momoa is set to become Conan the Barbarian for this new millennium.

Warner Bros. is seriously planning to become the ultimate champion of studios. The hot word on the street is that they acquired Rotten Tomatoes. Here’s the breakdown: social networking site Flixster bought Rotten Tomatoes last January, which means since Warner Bros. now owns Flixster they also own Rotten Tomatoes, a major review and critic aggregator site.

It has been hailed as the end of an era. It is definitely this generation’s Star Wars, and now, one of the most anticipated endings of all time is coming to theaters July 15, 2011.

It’s the final showdown between our hero Harry Potter, a boy we’ve watched grow up before our very eyes and evolve into the greatest wizard there ever was, the Chosen One. His arch nemesis, the Dark Lord Voldemort, an evil villain unlike any other, and one of both literature’s and film’s most memorable of malevolent adversaries.

So I was revisiting Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life the other day, a flick where Angelina Jolie searches for the legendary Pandora’s Box, and something tickled my brain and gave me pause. I found it interesting that both in the age of antiquity and in some of the minds of modern day, women are the vehicles responsible for the fall of man. Of course we all know the original sin story of Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden and the snake and apple. It is probably the most famous of all 'women are the root of all evil' stories. I think there is even a creation movie lost somewhere in the Hollywood archives depicting this cataclysmic moment in time.
