I don't know about you, but I still play the Oregon Trail on occasion. Hell, my wife even has the iPhone version of it and can be found hitting the trail on a fairly regular basis. It's not like it's a great game, but there's something about it's simplicity that keeps bringing people back to it.
The comedy production group Half Day Today are fans of the educational game and have made a faux trailer showing what a film version would look like. It's done up very much like any professional trailer (narrator and all) and that serious tone makes the video that much more hilarious.
Some strange part of me wants to actually see this movie, but I don't think I should say that too loud. There might be someone in Hollywood who might agree with me and try to make this. It's a fun video that pokes fun at something we've all known and loved from our childhood. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some salt pork to buy, and a wagon to waterproof.
