This is a kind of cool thing if you happen to live in New York. On Thursday (the 15th) between 9am and noon, Jawas and Stormtroopers will be running amok in the mid-town/Times Square area of the city. Here's the breakdown:
A rogue group of Jawas, passionate scavengers native to Tatooine who seek out technology for sale or trade. Jawas are easily identifiable by their brown hooded robes, glowing yellow eyes, and small stature. The Jawas will be accompanied by Imperial Stormtroopers from the 501st legion who will protect New Yorkers from being swindled by the Jawas.
In all, it's really just a cool chance for some photo ops for Star Wars fans, especially the kiddos. While they won't actually be giving away real copies of the blu-rays tomorrow, it's still a fun way to promote it. I only wish they included more cities in this promotion.
