The ever-popular teenybopper film, Twilight has cast a new Egyptian vampire.
Through an interview with Kate Gosselin of ET, Rami Malek announces his new role in the upcoming Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 2. Malek, an American actor of Egyptian heritage, is most recently known for his roles in The Pacific, Night at the Museum franchise and his most recent appearance in the finale season of the series 24. This young actor will be encompassing the role of an Egyptian vampire named Benjamin.
This is a new one on me. Makes me wonder what these people are thinking naming an Egyptian with Hebrew origins. Not exactly the choice name for a killer vampire. This one has nabbed me. I have tried reading the books to this series but just couldn’t sit still long enough to focus in on it. Just more hype to romanticize the vampire when it originated to be anything but a desirable icon.
Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 is set for a November 18, 2011 release as Breaking Dawn, Part 2 is aiming for November 16, 2012. Production for both films is projecting for the fall.
