Bio: Professor X is the creator and headmaster of Xavier's School for the Gifted.  He has the power to read and control minds and, along with his best friend Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto), creates the supercomputer Cerebro.

Mutant #2: Magneto

Real Name: Erik Lehnsherr

Played By: Michael Fassbender

Powers: Magnetism; Can Bend and Control Metal

Bio: Magneto grew up a young Jewish boy living on the war torn streets of Poland.  When his family is murdered by Nazis before his very eyes, his mutant powers of magnetism kick into effect, allowing him to escape.  Along with his best friend and fellow X-Man Charles Xavier, Magneto built the supercomputer Cerebro.

Mutant #3: Mystique

Real Name: Raven Darkholme

Played By: Jeniffer Lawrence

Powers: Shapeshifting

Bio: Not much is known about shipshifter Mystique's past, but she is one of the few mutants who joins Magneto's side after he leaves the X-Men.  Her ability also allows her to age slower than most people.

Mutant #4: Angel

Real Name: Angel Savadore

Played By: Zoe Kravitz

Powers: Can Fly.

Bio: Forced out of her house by her abusive step father, Angel found Xavier's School and became one of the first X-Men.  Angel gained the ability to fly after she grew a pair of fly like wings.

Mutant #5: Beast

Real Name: James McAvoy

Played By: Nicholas Hoult

Powers: Super Strength; Can Stick to Walls; Invulnerability

Bio: The future Mutant Ambassador of the United States Government, Beast serves his country as a member of the X-Men, and is a brilliant strategist and speaker.

Mutant #6: Banshee

Real Name: Sean Cassidy

Played By: Caleb Landry Jones

Powers: Supersonic Powers; Flying

Bio: Raised in a rich and noble Irish family, Banshee discovered his powers upon adolescense and retreated to the Xavier School for the Gifted.  There, he serves as one of the first people to be in the X-Men.

Mutant #7: Darwin

Real Name: Armando Munoz

Played By: Edi Gathegi

Powers: Can Adapt to Any Situation He's In

Bio: Left at a young age with only his mother, Darwin is a genius level student with a promising.  However, once his powers are triggered during his teenage years, Darwin heads to Xavier's school and becomes one of the first X-Men.  Darwin can adapt to any situation he gets thrown into, making him a valuable member of the team.

Mutant #8: Havok

Real Name: Alexander Summers

Played By: Lucas Till

Powers: Can Absorb Cosmic Energy; Energy Blasts

Bio: Not becoming aware of his mutant powers until a later age, Havok was raised by a military family until they all died in plane crash.  After healing from his injuries, Havok and his brother were placed in and out of adoption.  In time, he finds Xavier's School, where he would become one of the first X-Men.

Mutant #1: Sebastian Shaw

Powers: Can Turn Energy into Raw Strength

Bio: Sebastian Shaw is the primary antagonist of X-Men: First Class.  He's done a good job of keeping his mutation under wraps to the general public, instead operating under the guise of a wealthy and successful businessman.  Underneath it all, though, Shaw is the leader of the evil Hellfire Club, hell-bent on world domination.

Mutant #2: Riptide

Real Name: Janos Quested

Played By: Alex Gonzales

Powers: Can Form Tornadoes With Pure Speed

Bio: Riptide, a.k.a Janos Quested, is one of Sebastian Shaw's henchman (and, arguably, his right hand man).  Riptide can form Tornadoes out of pure speed, and works hard to serve the Hellfire Club and their goals of world dominatio n.

Mutant #3: Azazel

Real Name: N/A

Played By: Jason Flemying

Powers: Teleportation; Can Shoot Bolts of Paralyzing Energy at His Foes

Bio: The biological father of mutant Nightcrawler (who made his big screen appearance in X-Men 2), Azazel is a mutant henchman of the Hellfire Club who's been around since Biblical times.  Azazel can both teleport and stun his foes as he sees fit.

Mutant #4: Emma Frost

Real Name: Emma Frost

Played By: January Jones

Powers: Telepathy; Can Shapeshift into a Diamond Form That Grants Her Strength

Bio: A rich businesswoman from Boston, Emma Frost used her telepathic power to get her job with the Hellfire Club, and will do anything to keep it.  The harpy of the X-Men world, her good looks combined with her mind control ability make her quite a foe to be reckoned with.
