When I got the chance to see The Avengers the hype in the theater among us was nearly palpable. It was our chance to finally see if Marvel had pulled off a long gestating plan to bring the Earth's Mightiest Heroes to the big screen. There were things I really loved, and some things I thought could have been better and I'm going to share those with you.

Michael Bay's comments about the new origins of the Ninja Turtles (or what's now being called Turtlegate) hasn't sat well with fans; myself included. Through a few of my rantings on the site, I've made it known how I feel about fanboys hating things simply for the fact that it's something different. So rather than just bitch about something on the Internet like a lot people do, I'm going to actually justify my reactions and negative feelings. One thing needs to be made clear, I'm not hating on the new film. I haven't seen it, so there's no telling how good or bad it might be. Instead, I'm expressing my dislike for this new idea that the new film is taking. It just doesn't work for the Ninja Turtles.

Not too long ago word came down that Jonathan Liebesman was in talks to direct the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. While I was excited for news about the film finally moving forward, I can't say I was overly thrilled with the choice of director. While not necessarily bad, there were a few other directors I think would do an awesome job with the Turtles reboot instead.

2012 is poised to be a very big year for the movie industry.  With several high profile ‘blockbusters’ set to release, many movie buffs are crossing their fingers that all of their anticipated films meet, or exceed, their expectations.  The staff here at TMP isn’t immune to these high expectations either, so we’ve come together to bring you our lists for the most anticipated of 2012.

Even with all of the comic book movies coming out, believe it or not, there are a great many that never got off the ground or have staid in development hell for years. Here at TMP I’ve had a couple articles dealing with books and movie adaptations.  Inevitably one of the comments I always get on these articles say something to the effect of “I didn’t even know that was based off a book!”  Sometimes those adaptations can sneak up on you and unless you really watch the credits you would never know.  So I’ve compiled a list of movies you most likely didn’t know were based off of books.
