I'm not honestly sure how to take this news. I've been incredibly anxious for any news on the next Ninja Turtles film (I freaking love this franchise), but I'm not sure about this one. According to Variety, Jonathan Liebesman (Battle Los Angeles, Wrath of the Titans) is now in talks to direct the upcoming film adaptation. While we know the script is finished, plot details are being kept under wraps...

Honestly, I was hoping for a director with a little more experience in this particular type of action genre. Sure, he's got action experience, but we're talking with big explosions, guns, and massive titans...not exactly the hand-to-hand intensity of the Turtles. On top of that...Liebesman seems like a wild card. I enjoyed parts of Battle Los Angeles but ultimately the film was the most exciting movie in which absolutely nothing happened. The story went no where, and I couldn't have cared about any of the characters. The action was cool...but that was about it.
We haven't seen Wrath of the Titans yet, and while the trailers look exciting and interesting...I saw the first movie. And hated it. A lot. I know Liebesman had nothing to do with that first movie, but all that means is he's still unproven. Who knows, this may be a good thing. It all really boils down to how good of a script there is to start with. So what do you guys think of this news?
