Based on the SNL sketches of the same name, MacGruber follows MacGruber (Will Forte) as he battles to take down his terrorist archenemy Dieter Von Cunth (Val Kilmer), who wants to blow up Washington, D.C. with a nuclear warhead.  Aside from Forte and Kilmer, MacGruber also stars Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, Maya Rudolph and Powers Boothe (who isn't really a star so much as his name kicks ass).  Check out the trailer for a better idea of what this movie is about.

When I first heard about this idea I wasn't on board.  The sketch is great but a full movie out of it seemed a bit much.  Then they announced it would be hard-R and the villain would be named Dieter Von Cunth(!) and it won me over.  Maybe SNL isn't completely useless now after all.  MacGruber hits the big screen May 21st.
