Apparently, my age as a filmmaker is starting to show.  Not too long ago I was showing a group of younger people (high schoolers) a few things on filmmaking.  They had a strong interest in it (had made several short films anyway) and were planning on attending a film school.  However, they found me out through a friend of theirs and asked for advice on certain things, from a professional's standpoint.

I love helping people out, so was happy to oblige.  One night, I had them over and was showing them various production papers that are useful for filming days.  I was breaking down a Call Sheet for them and was talking about the "Sun Rise" and "Sun Set" options to fill out.  Since this is how I was taught, this is what I said:

"You can look up the times for sun rise and sun set in an Almanac or something..."

At this point the main guy in the group just looked at me and responded:

"Almanac? No...we have apps for that now."

I just started laughing.  Man I really sounded old all of a sudden.  Just thought it was a funny filmmaker story to share!
