Rules are simple! The first person posts a movie trivia question up on the board. The first person to answer it correctly gets to ask the next question!

Well, I guess I should go ahead and post the first question to get this ball rolling!

What 90s Spielberg movie did Harrison Ford option NOT to star in?

There are a few, I know Gremlins is one of them--Arachnophobia is another.

Imma Google to be sure *cheat* :)
    • Aidy P - more than a month ago
Ha! It's Gremlin's "the new batch!" I remember Arachnophobia because it was playing on one of the cable channels last year and my aunt was all creeped out about it.

My turn! In the 2009 film La teta asustada, Fausta was suffering from what disease?

Ummm...I guess you were both right. I was mostly going for Jurassic Park, but the Gremlin's one is correct to. We'll go ahead and roll with that. I'll be more specific next time I get to ask!

@ Aidy, ...I know it's the something of Sorrow. Can't remember what though. That's a tough one.

Really? Three words? Wow, I thought I was only missing one. I need to look a lot harder!

    Tim you are correct!

Fausta still believed in the stories her mother told her about the horrors the Peruvian women suffered during the times of war and terror in Peru. The milk was transmitted via the mother's breast to her child of the women who were abused and raped. Hence, Fausta believed the same would happen to her and she kept a small potato in her "area" to protect her from being raped, so she believed. A wonderful and poignant film.

Sweet! Good to know I'm good for something! All right, here is my question then:

In the movie Jaws, who played the Reporter on the beach? (It's a short cameo scene).

  • Replied by Aaron Bonogofsky on Wednesday, September 21 2011, 11:46 AM · Hide · #11
All I remember was that my friend in film school told me once that the author of the original Jaws was the reporter...I believe his last name was Benchly (sp?).

If that's right, I'll keep it going with a super easy one: What movie are the characters 'Crash Override' and 'Acid Burn' from?

Damn! You got to this answer before me Aaron. Yeah, you're right it's the author of the book Peter Benchley.

Oh and to answer your question Aaron: Hackers!

I remember really enjoying that movie when it first came out (and I was younger) but it really hasn't aged well. The look at the hacker sub-culture just isn't accurate and most of the computer tech stuff is just plain laughable. Still, it's hard to complain about a young Angelina Jolie...

LOL true! Hackers would be a timeless movie, but then they mention specs. "Yeah it's got a 28.8 bps modem...top of the line." "Yep...I peg this movie at about....1995 or so."

All right! That means I'm up next. Since I've been so obsessed with my Star Wars blu-rays I'll go with a Star Wars themed question this time around.

Two British Star Wars villains (one from the Original trilogy and one from the Prequels) shared the screen in a classic film where they played villain and hero respectively. Who are they?

Bonus Points for naming the movie too!

Tell me I didn't make this too hard? Fans of classic horror movies should definitely be able to get this one.

Are you talking about the guy who played Darth Vader? He's British. Dave Prowse. Now I do not know who else...wait, Darth Vader was considered the hero in the third installment of SW, right? So Dave Prowse.

    Christopher Lee?

Yes! You got it! You can go ahead and post up the next question. For anyone unsure of what the movie they starred in, it was the original Dracula. Lee played Count Dracula, while Cushing portrayed Van Helsing.

Cameron Diaz! I actually noticed her in the movie but wasn't sure it was her until my friend at film school told me it was.

The singer of what alternative band that was big in the mid-90's plays a waiter in Fight Club?

Edward Kowalczyk of Live was the waiter.

Who was originally offered the role of Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings?

Hint: his pay would've included 20% of the films' gross.

What's the name of the mugger who killed Bruce Wayne's parents?

What Austin Powers actor has a cameo in "Iron Man 2"?

I guess I picked too hard a question. The answer is Seth Green.

OK, how about this. Who were the originally scripted killer(s) in Scream 2?
  •
  • Replied by Jordan Maison on Monday, October 31 2011, 09:01 AM · Hide · #32
There were originally 4 killers in the movie: Hallie, Derek, Debbie Salt and Cotton

Once the script leaked on the internet however, they did a crap load of re-writes.
  •
  • Replied by Dylan Conley on Monday, October 31 2011, 10:28 AM · Hide · #33
Was Debbie Salt the fake name used by Mrs. Loomis? I can't remember. But you're right!

I'm glad they didn't make Cotton a killer. I read they were originally going to end it "Reservoir Dogs" style, and kill Sydney, Gale, Dewey, and Cotton.

Yeah, on the whole, I'd say that script leak was for the best. It forced them to change up the story and it actually made it a lot stronger.

Okay, on to my question (this is recent so it should be easy):

How long did it take Joss Whedon to shoot his secret film "Much Ado About Nothing" during his Avengers break (approximately)?
