The Best and Most Disappointing from Summer 2011 Movies
Just seeing what everyone's best/most surprising film and the worst/most disappointing film of the Summer is. Doesn't have to just be one, could be a list. But now that the Summer movie season is nearing the end I'm curious to know what lived up to expectations and what didn't.

Green Lantern would probably have to be my most disappointing. I had such high hopes that it could really be a great movie and stand up with WB's Batman franchise. There is just so much potential with Green Lantern, so it was heartbreaking to see it fail.
I think I was most surprised by Thor and X-Men First Class. Thor, because I really didn't think it'd be worth seeing. There were so many ways I could see it sucking, and even the trailers didn't have me that interested. Glad to say it was worth seeing and was incredibly fun.
For X-Men, I really thought that'd be the weakest comic book movie this Summer. While I was very excited to see it (I'm a sucker for the X-Men movies), I didn't have my hopes very high. After seeing it, I'm convinced that it's easily one of the best comic book movies EVER. Not just from this Summer, but that I've seen in general.3 votes by Dylan Conley, Gabriel Barboza, Kyra Dawson -

But yeah, X-Men: First Class was a complete surprise to me. I ended up loving it more than I ever imagined I would. Another surprise? Bridesmaids. A funny and touching chick flick? I don't know how it happened, but I'm glad it did

I think I'm going to agree with everyone and say that Green Lantern was the biggest disappointment. It was just sad to see all that great potential go to waste.
I think Captain America is my favorite. I've been waiting for a long time for someone to do Captain America right and they nailed it. Though Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a strong contender, I have to stay true to my comic roots! -
Oh man @April, I couldn't imagine that. My wife was so generous in letting me see a lot of films this Summer. But I can tell you I wouldn't leave a theater for a friend's drama. Call me callous or uncaring, but I'm there to watch a damn movie. I'll deal with it later!

Well, we took my car down there.. That's why we had to leave. She allowed the husband (soon to be ex) to control her from having any fun - certifiable crazy person. Even though I never saw any of the HP movies... I paid $10.. and darn well wanted to sit through it even if I wouldn't understand any of it lol. All I can say is from here on out...everyone is taking separate cars haha.. yeesh.

Captain America and Thor were best. X-Men: First Class most surprising. Green Lantern was the worst but I had no expectations for it whatsoever. I knew after the trailer in December it would suck. I felt like hitting myself in the face with Mjolnir after that crapfest. Most disappointing though was Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.Dylan Conley likes this post.
