Movies you grew up on

0
This thread is to talk about your favorite childhood movies. The ones you still enjoy watching, and the ones that may have had an impact on you (whether that be to get into filmmaking, or just the genres you watch now).

Think I'm probably going to list all of the other films people from the 80s grew up on:

    Goonies
    Ninja Turtles
    He-Man
    Beastmaster

Oh Beastmaster...I remember those first couple movies so fondly. Too bad they turned into such crap after that. I'm actually very surprised they haven't tried to remake those yet.

Well, Raiders of course. E.T, Close Encounters, Jurassic Park, Star Wars. Throw in some John Hughes for good measure.

I was a Disney kid growing up. We had tons of VHS tapes of everything from The Lion King to Aladdin.

It's sad to say, but I never got a chance to grow up on movies like Back to the Future until much later. A crying shame, really...

Yeah, that was pretty much how my wife was growing up. She was 100% Disney. Hell to this day we still sit down and watch Aladdin once a month or so, because it's still one of her favorites. Lion King has always been my favorite Disney flick though.

Star Wars! (Of course I would have to list this one)

But there are plenty of other films that really influenced me as a kid:

    Jaws
    Indiana Jones
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The Karate Kid (original of course!)
