DGA Makes History: Kathryn Bigelow
I’m very proud to see the Director’s Guild of America making history. For the first time in its 62 years, the DGA has finally awarded its top honor, the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film, to a female director, none other than Kathryn Bigelow, who helmed the visceral and gritty war film “The Hurt Locker”, an almost docu-style film that follows a member of the Army’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal team through a rotation in Iraq.
