Mind of a Movie Maniac

It's so funny the things you recall from your childhood.  During my visit with my dad and stepmother last month, my stepmom (Wendy) stated something that jogged my memory.
She said, "It only makes sense that you want to become a movie critic.  You have been a movie critic your whole life."  This is true.  I watched so many films that family and friends started coming to me for an opinion.  When I was a preteen/teenager my dad would swear I had already seen the movie because I would describe a film I wanted to see so badly..and could practically say how the whole movie would be just from the trailers.
Until recent months, my writing has never made it anywhere.  However, that is all changing and I could not be more thrilled.  It took me getting laid off last summer, and starting a film blog of my own to make me find TMP.
The good news is I have my job back, and still have my blog..and am still writing for TMP.  It will all work out.  I have faith.  There are many other fine writers here with jobs and full lives of their own continuing to write and keep their high hopes for the future.   I am quite stubborn (Ask my mom!), and believe in doing what you love.  It's just an incredible feeling when your often OCD nature toward spelling and grammar pay off!

10 Video Tributes, Save the Cat! Style (very cool!)

Hey everyone, I'm new on here but couldn't resist sharing this with you all. As fellow screenwriters/filmakers, I think you all would appreciate this as much as I did. I stumbled on this blog that looks like its posted by a company that makes game trailers (Mediajuice). They're making ten videos breaking down the "story beats" of ten of the most popular movies of all time (according to them). Last week they posted their first blog entry which also had the first video which I FLIPPED out when I saw, it was BACK TO THE FUTURE!!!  http://mediajuicestudios.wordpress.com/  It looks like they are using the Save the Cat! book to beak down popular movies, which I must admit as an aspiring screenwriter is not only uber cool but a very useful tool.  I've read Save the Cat! multiple times and constantly refer to it in my writing., but there's nothing like "seeing" Blake Snyder's beat-sheet in an actual movie. VERY COOL! Hope you enjoy the Back to the Future video as much as i did. I went directly to the Mediajuice website (http://www.mediajuicestudios.com/#/savethecat/) and from the looks of it, they'll be releasing nine more with "ET" being the next one! Can't wait!!!
