The Avengers is currently tearing up the box office and breaking all kinds of records.  So it's no surprise that Marvel is keen to get a sequel moving (as they've also talked about it many times before), and now Disney has made the announcement official.  

Sony Pictures announced soon after the release of the first movie, that they were going to be making a Smurfs sequel...and I died just a little bit inside.  Well, Sony has now announced that they've made good on that promise and production on the second film has officially started.

Looks like Sony is starting to get things in motion for a sequel to this Summer's upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man. They already set a release date, and now they've hired some writers to pen the script...and they aren't too shabby.

The Hunger Games books have a massive following, and the film adaptation had a lot to live up to.  For the most part it succeeded (it's not the perfect film, but great anyway), and it's been financially rocking the box office.  One of those reasons has to do with director Gary Ross' handling of the movie...Unfortunately he won't be coming back for the sequel, Catching Fire.

Disney just sent out a press release with the announcement that they've set an official release date for the follow-up to Captain America: The First Avenger, with some minor details on the film.

The road to Anchorman 2 has been a long one.  After years of studio opposition to the idea of a sequel, and a seemingly endless amount of rumors about the project, Ron Burgundy himself has revealed the film is finally happening.

While it was long rumored and many assumed it to be happening, there wasn't any official confirmation on Michael Bay returning to the money-making film franchise, Transformers.  Paramount has issued a press release now that confirms Bay has signed on with them for a 2 picture deal, one of them is Transformers 4, which now has a release date to boot.

Following a pretty bumpy road, filled with delays and even the need for a replacement director, it looks like things are back on track for the X-Men Origins: Wolverine follow-up. Fox has finally given the film a release date.

If you were to ask me a year ago about my excitement level for G.I. Joe Retaliation, the answer would have been zero.  Then we got the pretty awesome teaser trailer not too long ago, and I started to get pumped.  Now the full Super Bowl spot has been released and I'm becoming more and more encouraged...Believe me, I'm just as shocked as you are about it.
