Over the weekend, TMP had the chance to check out the latest film in the 'found footage' genre, Chronicle. The movie has been getting a lot of buzz lately, and we're here to tell you...it's deserving of it. This is the direction found footage films need to go.

Found footage films are all the rage these days (as the kids would say).  You go to any movie theater in the US, and chances are a found footage film had played there in the last month or so.  So where the hell did this trend come from anyways?  Well quite honestly, you can trace back the trend all the way to The Blair Witch Project.  But it wasn't until Cloverfield that the format was out back on the map.  And Paranormal Activity, of course, revolutionized it.  Now, every studio and there mother is creating a found footage film, hoping to cash in on the craze.  Most of them have been horror oriented, for that genre seems to have the most success with this medium.  However, Chronicle is different.  How different...well, that's really the question.
