Following a pretty bumpy road, filled with delays and even the need for a replacement director, it looks like things are back on track for the X-Men Origins: Wolverine follow-up. Fox has finally given the film a release date.

2012 is quickly approaching, which means now is the time to stop caring about it and focus on 2013.  Even though two of the most anticipated superhero movies will be hitting next year, 2013 still looks promising in terms of comic book movies.  Hit the jump to find out more about two of the most anticipated ones: Iron Man 3 and The Wolverine.

Darren Aronofsky is out! According to news released today, Aronofsky has changed his mind about directing the 20th Century Fox sequel The Wolverine due to the fact that it would keep him out of the country too long.

Our esteemed colleagues at Hitfix.com posted a nerdgasm-inducing interview over the weekend with the helmer of the Wolverine sequel, Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, Requiem for a Dream).

The interview detailed, among other things, the name of the film. Rather than remaining shackled to the abominable legacy that was Gavin Hood’s 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it seems Aronofsky has decided to go with a fresh title and a fresh story.
