Today in the MPAA: AMC Sort of Sides with the Weinsteins About ‘Bully’, Ridley Scott Believes That ‘Prometheus’ Should Be Rated R
Friday, 30 March 2012 11:58Sadly, the MPAA is an important factor in the overall Hollywood scheme. In fact, it might be the most important part of the post-production process. Simply put, the lower the rating, the higher the box office. So if a film wants to do really, really well, they pretty much have to be PG-13 at the minimum. With an R-rating, success is less certain. Well this is a sad fact, it's true. The MPAA is no longer about just setting guidelines for parents—it's about setting box office parameters for movies.
That factor is very apparent today, with two films both struggling with the MPAA to get the rating they want. Read more about AMC's decision regarding the release of Bully (out in selected theaters today) and what Ridley Scott thinks about Prometheus' rating right after the jump.
Rumor Control: Will Harrison Ford Return for Blade Runner 2?
Monday, 06 February 2012 11:47At first glance, this is a pretty silly and dumb rumor. I mean, there's just so many things about this that doesn't make any sense! For one, I'm pretty sure Ridley Scott has said that none of the characters from the original film are coming back this time around. Also, it's been pretty well reported that Harrison Ford had a terrible experience making Blade Runner. Add in the fact that Ford has been pretty hesitant to sci-fi films nowadays and the idea of Ford returning for Blade Runner 2 seems pretty incomprehensible. That said, a rumor has been circling around the interwebs (as the kids call it) this weekend that Ford will indeed be back as police officer Rick Deckard in Blade Runner 2. And, believe it or not...I actually believe there's credence to this rumor.
First Trailer for Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus' is All Scope, No Story
Thursday, 22 December 2011 13:42But in no way, shape, or form should you take that headline as a bad thing. It is a teaser trailer, after all; the most important aspect of a teaser trailer is to build anticipation and to establish atmosphere, not lay out the entire story for all to see. And in that regard, I don't see how you can call Prometheus' first trailer ANYTHING but a success.

[Update] Rumor Control: Is This the Plot Synopsis for Prometheus?
Thursday, 30 June 2011 18:38[Fox has sent an update out saying that the leaked plot synopsis is actually incorrect. They have now issued an official synopsis.]
Prometheus is one of the most interesting projects coming out next year. Originally envisioned as a prequel to the 1979 film Alien, the film reportedly evolved into a new project all together. But then they said that it was still a prequel, but a very loose one. So which one is it? Well, a rumored plot synopsis may have finally given us the answer to that question.

Saturday, 05 March 2011 02:09Xenomorphs will be unrecognizable in Prometheus?
Friday, 25 February 2011 08:22At this point, with all of this news about Prometheus, I'm just waiting for some official announcement to come out saying the name has changed once again to, Alien: Prometheus. Now more reports have come in, reiterating what we've been told before, that the story will still be part of the Alien universe, but not a direct sequel. A new report suggests though, that the xenomorphs won't be like anything we've seen before.
