John Carter Review: Furthur Proof That There Is No Life on Mars
Thursday, 15 March 2012 00:00If I was a doctor performing a surgery on John Carter, I would have called the film's death about a dozen times. Its heartbeat kept slowing to a snails pace, and its pulse seemed practically non existent; what other choice did I have but to call it quits? I had to shut down the monitor, put away the defillbulator—it was over, and there was nothing I could do to save this film. But right before I would write the time of death, the film's heart rate would suddenly rise, and its pulse would miraculously return! I would be thrilled, entertained even! But before I could even begin to appreciate just how strong a film it was, the heart rate would once again collapse. And I would once again try to revive it. But the film would keep dying, and there was nothing I could possibly do about it. In bursts, the film would come back to life—but try as I might, I could not keep it alive. I would continue this fruitless back and forth for about two hours, until the film finally ended. And once it was all over, I made a startling discovery—John Carter was never truly alive.
John Carter was a film without a pulse, and there was nothing I could do to convince myself otherwise.

First Full Length Trailer for 'John Carter' Isn't Even Trying to Appeal to the Mainstream
Wednesday, 30 November 2011 23:41John Carter is arguably the first "event" picture of 2012. It's been in development hell for decades, yet is based off one of the most beloved science fiction book ever made. Obviously, a lot of stock is going into this film (both literally and figuratively; apparently, Disney spent a TON of money on this film). Over the last week, marketing for the film has been revving up. A couple new pictures were released, along with a new poster (headlined at the top). But it was all leading up to this—the reveal of the brand new, full length trailer.
