TheMoviePool takes on the baddest of the bad with the King of the Monsters! See us count down the best monsters to ever square off against Godzilla over his many decades of rampaging.
Since 2010 there's been talk about bringing Godzilla back to the big screen. When Legendary pictures acquired the rights from Toho in March 2010, they've done nothing but chomp at the bit to get the ball rolling on another creature feature starring the king of all monsters. Heck, during SXSW they even released some very early concept art on it, despite the fact that they had no director or writer...or anything. Well, according to THR the wheels are finally moving, and the studios are closing the deal on the director.
In a world fill that's been flooded lately with wild speculation and movie rumors, it's nice to see that one director is stepping forward to rebut a rumor. The funny part is, that he wasn't aware the rumor existed. Yesterday Latino Review reported that Legendary Pictures had offered the director's chair for their upcoming Godzilla reboot to Guillermo Del Toro. Needless to say this got several people excited and the Internet promptly exploded. However, Drew McWeeny from HitFix got the chance to talk with Del Toro that very same day to get to the heart of the rumors and got the truth.
Brian Rogers shares what’s in store for 2012’s ‘Godzilla’
It seems like what we're looking at here may or may not be the first look at the new Godzilla. Legendary Pictures created the image and slapped it on a T-Shirt for ComicCon but waited a bit before saying that it is unrelated to the film. Of course that could just be a good way to get the word to spread like wildfire.
