During a multiple vehicle stunt for Transformers 3, a Chicago woman was gravely injured.
Via a press release, Gabriela V. Cedillo, 24, was injured Wednesday at 7 p.m. (September 1) as the stunt went awry. An unidentified projectile collided into the windshield of her 2006 Toyota. As the object hit her vehicle, the Toyota banged into an inner median concrete barrier and stretched down for approximately a mile before coming to an abrupt halt. The driver’s side suffered from extensive damage. Fire and emergency medical service responded to the incident on Cline Ave in Hammond, Ind.
Filming immediately ceased as the woman was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center with critical head injuries. Her medical condition has not yet been disclosed as to how serious the trauma extends.

It was assured that all roads and adjoining areas were shut down for the filming of the movie, as the stunts are exceedingly dangerous. Apparently, that has been taken to a whole new height. Being a movie extra has its flaws – no guarantees on making it out alive.
Apart of the movie as an extra, Cedillo was not listed under the stunt personnel. Why would she? You’d think the personnel would have it under enough control to make sure no issues arose even under worse case scenarios.
Spokespeople have been keeping a tight lip and adding no comments to the current situation at hand. State Police are not revealing any information especially on possible charges. Investigations are still in affect. It looks to me that Transformers 3 could be facing some legal problems on their end especially once news of Cedillo’s well being has been publicized. Talk about your major SNAFU.
