If you're not familiar with the story, Machine Gun Preacher is based on the real life of Sam Childers. He was a drug dealer and biker who turned into a religious crusader who did his best to protect Sudanese orphans from harm.
It sounds like an interesting story, and Gerard Butler has been tasked to play the part. With filming going on, some new set photos have come out that give us the first real look at him in the role. I'm totally digging the hair, but on the whole his character just seems kind of...goofy. I'm still interested in the film, but these don't seem to be the most flattering pictures.
