Fans have been chomping at the bit to see any footage from these films, and what little footage was shown at the MTV movie awards was instantly all over the internet. Well the wait is finally over and the official theatrical trailer is here.
If you checked out the screenshots we posted earlier you probably recognized those shots in the trailer (since they were taken from the trailer). I'm getting very excited for this film, and it's darker tone really seems to be working for it. This trailer actually shows footage from both Part 1 and Part 2, so unfortunately some of those awesome scenes won't be seen until next year!
Unlike the Twilight series which is also splitting the final film into two parts, the split Potter seems necessary. It was a large book, and it's a story that has to wrap up all loose ends. It's a feat the would feel way too rushed and disjointed if they had tried to pull it off in one film. Is it possible? Probably, but that would really be selling the story short, and ending the saga on a low note.
The trailer definitely gets the nerd juices flowing and I'm sure many fans out there are having to wipe the drool from their lips. It's a good trailer and definitely leaves us wanting more.
