We all remember the late Heath Ledger’s spine tingling performance as “The Joker” on The Dark Knight. It was his final role, and he did play it masterfully. Since 2008 it has kept its fifth place on the worldwide all time box office charts with approximately $1,001.9 billion.
However, according to Box Office Mojo, this weekend a new crazy man bypassed poor Heath to claim this ranking. That mad man is “The Mad Hatter”, also known as Johnny Depp. The total worldwide gross at the box office as of May 31st was $1,006.0 billion, and came in just behind another Depp film (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest). It may not be up there with Avatar’s numbers, but the film was definitely “much more muchier” than imagined.
