TMP's most ridiculous story of the week: Rubber

In probably the craziest concept I've ever heard of, Rubber, a film about a killer tire has hit Cannes 2010.

There wasn't a typo there.  This film is about a regular tire that comes to life and develops deadly urges.  What ensues is a bloodbath remeniscient of those old 70s horror flicks about inanimate objects.  And that's really all it's supposed to be, a throwback to those earlier horror films.

This could be a sign of the apocolypse

Needless to say it's getting panned pretty bad there in Cannes, but I just can't believe anyone would go through all of the trouble to make a film about a killer tire!  I know you're all fired up and ready to see it, but this is a French only film and is set to release in their theaters this September.  Though something tells me you're not missing much.

Don't believe me?  Check out the ridiculous trailer below and tell me I'm wrong.  And in case you were wondering, that first image where the tire is squaring off against the cop...that's straight out of the film.
