Some of you might have heard of this little board game called, Monsterpocalypse (most of you probably haven't). It's a board game unlike many others you've played before. It combines miniatures, with table-top role playing, and death matches. Essentially you and your friend grab two monsters (represented by the various miniatures) and place them on a game board. You then build a city on top of the game board and let your monsters go wild trying to kill each other while destroying the town.

You're probably wondering what this really has to do with anything but it looks like DreamWorks Pictures have picked up this property in order to make a movie out of it. I mean it's got monsters, things blowing up, cities being destroyed, the picture formula for a movie...I'm just surprised it wasn't picked up earlier.
Reportedly DreamWorks is trying to get Tim Burton on board to direct the film. It seems an odd choice, as a total massive destruction movie, doesn't really seem to be Burton's style, but I think he could pull it off and would love to see his attempt. The problem is, if they do end up going with Burton, this film is going to be quite a ways off before it will see a release. Burton is already committed to a couple other projects, so Monsterpocalypse will have to wait at least until those are done.

Well that might set just fine with DreamWorks as they were quick to point out the project is still in the very early stages and is one of several projects they have on the back burner. I say just give it to Michael Bay, he'll fill it with explosions and have it out within a year.
