All right, there isn't a whole lot of news to be had, but it's a slow news day and everyone loves The Avengers news. If you're lucky enough to be attending the NYCC (Oct 13-16), then you might be lucky enough to catch some never before seen footage from the upcoming film.
NYCC announced today that in the IGN theater on Oct. 15th, between 6:30-7:30pm, Marvel will be having some sort of panel. "Special surprise guests" are also supposed to be there, but that's about as much info as we get.

In all honesty I'm curious as to why Marvel opted out of showing off during the SDCC, but is giving something to the NYCC. Is this yet another sign of SDCC losing it's influence and power? More than likely it's because filming has now wrapped and they actually have more footage to show off than they did before. Either way, this should be a big treat for the fans.
Hopefully this is a sign that we'll be getting a trailer before too long. With the brief sizzle reel they showed at D23 and now this, I'm thinking we'll see something soon in the way of an official trailer. Let's just keep our fingers crossed, that it won't be too long after NYCC that we get something official (who knows, maybe what they're showing IS the trailer).
