I really had no interest in the next Ghost Rider movie after the first film. It was just beyond awful and I'm glad I only rented it. But Spirit of Vengeance has been getting some good buzz lately. The filmmakers have repeatedly stated they've learned their lessons from the first film and are changing things up.

Here's the first teaser Poster which debuted yesterday.
Then the film had a very strong showing at SDCC and most people that came away from that panel were pretty positive about it. Then the first pictures from the film started coming out and showcased a much darker, and bad ass looking Ghost Rider character and people were starting to be encouraged.
Now the trailer has been released, and while it doesn't give off hardly anything of the plot...it looked good. The tone is definitely darker, and seems to embrace the anti-hero that the character really is. The animation looks pretty solid as well and is definitely leaps and bounds better than the first film's:
See, that wasn't half bad? In fact, I say this got my attention. Am I jumping up and down in anticipation for the film? Not at all, but it's now on my radar, where as before I had already given up on it. It'll take a few more trailers before I can really decide how I feel about it, but I can honestly say, I felt more entertained by this than I ever did during the first film.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance comes out Feb 17, 2012.
