But enough about punctuality, we got movie news to discuss. The Hollywood Reporter was the first to break the news, although director David Slade had been chatting it up since a couple weeks ago. It's also been speculated since the incarnation of the project that its basis would be the graphic novel Born Again. But not until now has this been entirely confirmed.

In addition to the confirmed source material, a writer has been hired to pen the film. Brad Caleb Kane of Fringe and Brooklyn's Finest is officially set to write an adaption of Born Again, which tells the story of Matt Murdock at the cusp of emotional peril. According to insiders, “Kane is a Daredevil fan, and his energy and passion for the material helped him nab the job.” Wait, you need energy and passion to write a script? I thought the blood magic fulfilled that role! Damn, I need to get me some of that "passion" then.
But in all seriousness, this actually sounds like it could be a great movie if they do it right. Born Again tells the story of Matt Murdock's girlfriend, Karen Page. Karen dreamt of being an actress, but like so many other woman with this dream, it did not work out. After a brief stint in Hollywood, Karen returns to New York with a heroin addiction and a filmography full of pornography. To fund her addiction, Karen ends up selling the identity of Daredevil to the highest bidder. In this case, it happens to be Kingpin. Kingpin uses this information to systematically destroy Murdock's life. On the brink of insanity, Daredevil struggles to rebuild his life and defeat Kingpin.

I must say, that's quite a plot. And the original graphic novel was written by Frank Miller, so that must mean something, right? Anyways, I think this is a perfect way to reboot the Daredevil series. Cast the right man as Matt Murdock, craft a strong script and this project could truly soar. It's gritty, dramatic, and insane. Does it sound like another hugely popular superhero reboot to you? You know, one that might have came out in 2005 and rhymes with "Satman Higgins?"
Okay, it's Batman Begins. I'm talking about Batman Begins.
